Final Cut Sound Video

This is my Final Cut Sound Video consisting of all stills with a combination of the essence of nature and the signs of the city that essentially speak to us, but more importantly me. Through this video I tried to express something truly unique using all still imagery of peaceful nature and the signs of our city with the peaceful yet angry sounds of a storm as my audio.

Sound Rough Cut

This is my Sound Rough Cut composed once again of all still images, except this time I explored the concept of nature and how simple and peaceful it is. I used a repetition of stills to convey movement in the style of video to express something new and unique.

Silent Rough Cut

This is my Silent Rough Cut composed of all still images of signs of the city. As I walked around the city I could not help but notice how many signs I encountered and how each sign conveys a different message to us. Just as we are affected by the media that surrounds us each day, we are affected by the signs that we encounter and for that single moment what these signs mean to us whether they tell us where we are or what to do, we listen to them (most of the time) as we listen to the media and each other.

Production Strategy

For my Drift 2 exploration I will start on the corner of N Lake Drive and E Shorewood Blvd. My strategy will be to walk straight for 1 mile and then turn left or right depending on the flip of a coin, heads left, tails right. The area I am exploring will be an excellent area due to its diverse city sounds and images it will allow me to capture. My image capturing strategy will be that I will generate moving a still imagery of nature including trees, grass, leaves,ect. and of the signs of the city including road signs, speed signs, street signs, parking signs ect. I hope that I will be able to capture the essence of both what nature and these signs in our city speak to us.
